Dental implants – what is the treatment like and how much does it cost?

Implantology is a dynamically developing field, also in dentistry. Dental implants are designed to recreate natural teeth and improve the aesthetics of the smile. Do you want to learn more about implants, treatment and their price? Go to the rest of the article and find out more.

What is an implant?

Implants are metal screws or frames that are designed to replace tooth roots. Screws are placed on the implanted implants, thanks to which artificial teeth can be attached. Bridges or crowns mounted on implants do not move, which has a significant impact on the patient’s comfort when eating or even during a conversation.

Dental implants – why is it worth it?

Implant treatment helps patients who struggle with tooth loss or complete toothlessness. Implants fill the tooth space and fit perfectly into the entire bite. This makes them look like real teeth. Thanks to implantology, we restore the patient’s comfort in everyday functioning and the aesthetic appearance of the smile. Implantation gives you the opportunity to further beautify your smile thanks to dental prosthetics (crowns, bridges, veneers).

Dental implants make it possible to give up dentures. Thanks to this, you don’t have to worry about incorrect and unclear pronunciation. Giving up dentures also means great comfort. Implants allow you to forget about uncomfortable prosthetic structures that fall out.

Treatment plan at Denti-Med

At Denti-Med, we always establish a treatment plan individually during a consultation with a doctor. Initially, we perform an intraoral scan and a CT scan. Then the dentist proposes treatment options and plans its course. The doctor also presents the expected effects. Thanks to this, you can choose the most suitable one for you.

What does implantological treatment look like?

Dental implant treatment usually consists of several stages. We select them individually for each case. Standard treatment is performed under local anesthesia. Before the doctor starts the procedure, there is a consultation visit. During it, he checks the patient’s oral health. Then he performs an X-ray and computed tomography examination. Thanks to this, the doctor can check the condition of the bones and, as a result, plan the course of the entire treatment.

First, the dentist cuts the gum and makes a hole (implant bed) in the jawbone to insert the material. This is performed using special surgical drills. Then the orthodontist places the material in the prepared implant bed and sutures the gum appropriately. While the wound heals, the patient may wear a temporary prosthesis. The stitches are removed after about a week.

After healing and shaping of the gum, we install the implants. The installation of a new tooth takes place after approximately 3–6 months. A shorter period applies when the screw is inserted into the mandible bone, and a longer period applies when the screw is inserted into the maxillary bone.
